Yoan Luis Haiti claims Salvadorean Liga Superior Interperformances weekly honour

Experienced Cuban Yoan Luis Haiti (201-C-82, agency: Pro Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader SAN MARCOS and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 37-year old center had the game-high 5 points adding twenty four rebounds and six assists for San Marcos in his team's victory, helping them to beat Arce (#3, 7-3) 78-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed San Marcos to jump to the first place in the Salvadorean Liga Superior. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. San Marcos has a very solid 7-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. It was one of impressive evenings for Haiti as usually he does not deliver so high stats.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old center Eduardo Recinos (195-C-88) of Arce. Recinos impressed basketball fans with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Arce lost that game 64-78 to slightly higher-ranked San Marcos (#1, 7-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Arce still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Recinos is a newcomer at Arce and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Julio Ramirez (175-F-96) of Nejapa (#4). Ramirez showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Nejapa, leading his team to a 78-76 win against slightly lower-ranked Izalco (#5, 1-9). Nejapa can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ramirez has individually a great season in El Salvador. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.3ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 9.4rpg (4th best).
